Cambridge Reproduction

Gretchen is an MPhil student under the supervision of Dr. Priscilla Day-Walsh and Dr. Charnock-Jones in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Her research focuses on mechanistically characterizing the effects of short-chain fatty acids and their associated microbes on placental function and pregnancy outcomes. During her undergraduate studies, she investigated the impact of endocrine-disrupting chemicals on ovarian function. Following her time at Cambridge, Gretchen plans to pursue an MD-PhD in Reproductive Sciences, with the long-term goal of becoming a physician-scientist dedicated to improving pregnancy outcomes.
