The Development Fund supports early career researchers (ECRs) in their professional development by providing small grants (up to £500) for training and other development activities.
This Michaelmas Term 2025 round is now open for applications.
Application deadlines for 2025-26
There are three funding rounds each year (once per term). The application deadlines for the academic year 2025-26 are:
Michaelmas Term: 21 November 2025
Lent Term: 13 February 2026
Easter Term: 22 May 2026
Applicants will hear whether they have been successful within 3-4 weeks of their application. Submissions should be made at least 4 weeks before your proposed activity will take place.

Please make sure you are familiar with the Development Fund guidance (below) before you submit your application.
Applications can be made via the online form or by emailing the Word application form to Tamsin Smyth (admin@repro.cam.ac.uk). Please ensure that you include a 2-page CV and a letter of support from your supervisor, line manager or Head of Department with your application, as your application will not be considered until all supporting documents have been received.
