Jasmine is a PhD student in Professor Catherine Aiken’s group investigating cardio-obstetric care pathways. Her research explores how patient-provider concordance affects clinical experiences and outcomes and assesses whether changes in exercise tolerance during pregnancy can predict adverse outcomes. She is also interrogating the bidirectional relationship of cardiac disease’s influence on pregnancy and vice versa. These findings will shed light on how best to risk assess and manage cardiovascular disease in pregnancy to prevent maternal and fetal complications. Following her time in Cambridge, Jasmine will pursue an MD at Vanderbilt University. She plans to work as a clinician scientist with a long-term focus in addressing disparities in women’s health research.
