I am a second year PhD candidate at the Department of Physiology, Development, and Neuroscience (PDN) and I conduct my research under the supervision of Dr Thorsten Boroviak. My PhD focuses on the pluripotent compartment of the mammalian embryo, where I employ the marmoset as a model organism to study facets of naïve pluripotency that cannot be described in the mouse.

I am interested in identifying the developmental signalling pathways required for establishment of the embryonic lineage in the primate embryo. I work on harnessing these pathways to generate intraspecies chimaera-competent marmoset embryonic stem cells. Chimaera-competent marmoset stem cells will represent an important step towards generating sophisticated genetic models and an authentic in vitro model for primate embryogenesis.
