Susan Golombok is Professor of Family Research and Director of the Centre for Family Research at the University of Cambridge. She has pioneered research on parenting and child development in lesbian mother families, gay father families, single mothers by choice and families created by assisted reproductive technologies including in vitro fertilisation (IVF), donor insemination, egg donation and surrogacy. This research has contributed to ethical debate on new family forms and has influenced policy and legislation in the UK and internationally. Her award-winning book Modern Families: Parents and Children in New Family Forms was published in 2015 by Cambridge University Press, and her forthcoming book We Are Family will be published in October 2020 by Scribe.
