I am investigating early human maternal-fetal interface to decipher the intercations between the mother and the fetus.

A successful pregnancy depends on efficient communication between placenta, the extraembryonic organ made by the fetus, and decidua, the mucosal lining of the mother’s uterus. To understand this complex environment I use in vitro placental models, single-cell genomics and spatial transcriptomics as well as develop my own methods for spatial data analyses.
