My research is in human evolutionary genetics and uses computational and mathematical methods with large-scale genetic data. My previous work has included the assembly and analysis of the gorilla genome, research on the evolution of human, Neanderthal and great-ape populations, and understanding germline mutation. The genetic, cellular and demographic processes involved in human germline mutation continue to be a major focus for my current research.
