I am a PhD student at the Cambridge Centre for Gender Studies, Department of Politics and International Studies. My research interests include gender and sexuality studies, feminism, intimate relationships, kinship, queer theory, psychoanalysis, and critical studies of men and masculinities, which are situated within the broader traditions of sociology, history and anthropology. Specifically, my doctoral project seeks to address the complex dynamics between (homo)sexual politics and gendered subjectivation in contemporary China, looking at how masculinities, femininities, intimacy and kinship are produced and reproduced, constructed and deconstructed, contested and/or reinforced in a neoliberal politics and socioeconomics of queerness in the party-state.
