Ms Josephine Blagrove

I completed an Integrated Masters degree in biological science at the Holland lab, University of Oxford. My Masters research focused on the evolution of the homeobox gene family ETCHbox and its role in pre-implantation development.

My current placement at the Babraham Institute is part of the BBSRC Biosciences DTP at the University of Cambridge. I am working within the Rayon lab, developing a technique to grow and differentiate motor neurons within micropatterns, with the aim of controlling the role of the cellular environment in the study of motor neuron differentiation.

I am interested in evolutionary developmental biology, and looking what can be learned about embryo development by looking across the animal kingdom as a whole.
