About
My research focuses on understanding how maternal BMI, glycaemic control, and diabetes influence pregnancy outcomes. With a background in clinical practice and epidemiological research, I examine how maternal nutritional and metabolic status—often proxied by BMI and glycaemia—shapes placental development and function, as reflected in placental biomarkers and pregnancy outcomes. Through this work, I aim to generate evidence that supports earlier risk identification and more effective strategies to improve outcomes for women and their babies in pregnancies affected by obesity and diabetes.
