The Social Fluids Lab studies the evolution and impacts of socially transferred materials - materials produced in one body and transferred to another (e.g. milk, eggs, regurgitate, ejaculate). We use multi-omics, physiology and comparative phylogenetic methods to understand how these impact others and how the genes underlying such transfers evolve, especially in the context of metabolic division of labour.
