Introducing early career researchers in life sciences to topics in the social sciences. Those wishing to participate should fill out the expression of interest form and provide a 100 word statement on why they would like to participate. Places are extremely limited and will be allocated on the basis of capturing a mixture of career stages and the motivation statement.
The participants will have the opportunity to read and discuss texts stemming from various sources (academic articles, reports, journal articles, blog posts etc.). They will also have the opportunity to learn about sociological methods and findings, exchanging their own views in a rigorous and quantitative fashion. Topics will range from embryo research to CRISPR technology to doing research in the age of social media and the workshops will be run by the research group of Professor Sarah Franklin.
