Cambridge Reproduction

Final year PhD student with specific interests in the developmental origins of health and disease (DOHaD), in particular the programming of metabolic and cardiovascular disease by maternal obesity and/or nutrition. Currently working on the long-term effects of prenatal metformin exposure in obese pregnancy using a mouse model of maternal diet-induced obesity, where I am specifically focusing on the cardiovascular system and adipose tissue of affected offspring.

Broader academic interests include endocrinology, regulation of energy balance, diabetes and spermatogenesis; I am also interested in science communication and evidence-based policy. I will be finishing my PhD in 2020 and am looking for postdoctoral opportunities in related fields.
