About
One of my major research interests centres on women’s cardiovascular health, advanced cardiovascular imaging, immunology (particularly inflammation), and the development of innovative prevention and treatment strategies for cardiovascular disease.
Additionally, I am focusing on advancing cardiovascular care for women across their lifespan — from pregnancy-associated complications, such as pre-eclampsia, to the menopausal transition and other sex-specific determinants of women’s cardiovascular health. I investigate how these factors contribute to the development and progression of cardiovascular disease, with the goal of improving risk stratification, early detection, personalised prevention and treatment strategies for women.
Within the framework of the international SHE-HEALS consortium, we aim to inform future international guidelines and transform cardiovascular care for women, improving cardiovascular health outcomes for millions of women worldwide.
